Discover our array of indigenous cultures, then stay with a Bidayuh family in their home set in the midst of lush tropical rainforest. Get an understanding of the rich traditions and culture of the Bidayuh people, sample their unique cuisine, and try your hand at some of their age-old customs. Every day you are sure to discover something new!
Day 1 – Arrival
You will be met on arrival at the Kuching International Airport by an Amansar representative who will accompany you to your selected hotel and will assist you to check-in.
The rest of the day you will be free to relax at the hotel or explore the Kuching waterfront at your leisure.
Day 2 – City Orientation – Sarawak Cultural Village (B)
After breakfast at your hotel your guide will take you on a short orientation tour of the city highlights.
Then you will proceed to the Sarawak Cultural Village at Damai Beach for a discovery tour of the homes and lifestyles of Sarawak’s indigenous cultures. The morning cultural show is at 11.30am after which you can enjoy visiting the tribal houses at your leisure and learn about the lifestyles of Sarawak’s inhabitants from the families who live in them.
Day 3 – Bako National Park (B)
After breakfast at your hotel, depart for a day tour of the awesome Bako National Park where the ultimate biodiversity of Borneo flora and fauna can be found, including the rare proboscis monkey.
Day 4 & 5 – Semenggoh Wildlife Centre – Saloma’s Village Homestay (B, L, D)
After breakfast at your hotel, you will check out and depart for the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre to watch the majestic orangutan during their morning feed in the jungle.
You will then proceed to Kampung Sadir, just over an hour’s drive from Kuching, for 2 nights with a local Bidayuh family. This is a comfortable and super friendly homestay and if you want to experience the Bidayuh lifestyle, then Saloma’s is the place! Jungle trekking, collecting jungle food, bamboo cooking, swimming in a waterfall pool, and visiting local longhouse are the daily activities that you can do together with Saloma and her family. This is an amazing immersive opportunity to spend time with a Bidayuh family.
Day 6 – Mulu – Kuching (B)
After a leisurely breakfast, say goodbye to your homestay family and return to your hotel in Kuching.
Day 7 – Free & easy until departure (B)
Breakfast at the hotel and free time until your check-out. We will transfer you to the airport for your departure.
